Hi, I'm Lesley.

Having faced rich and varied challenges myself, I feel I am able to consider myself a down to earth counsellor, helping those from all walks of life, with issues great and small.

As a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I use a range of therapeutic techniques from a variety of different counselling approaches  that ensure your sessions are tailored to your needs, so they will be as individual as you are. I will listen and help you to explore what is worrying you, working together at a pace that suits you to explore the possibilities for change.

The therapeutic relationship is important to me and is the foundation of our work together. I respect that you are the expert on your life, and I would like to work with you while you explore your issues, offering you a safe and confidential space, while giving you  support, to develop the resources that you have within yourself to promote positive change.

What is counselling?

Sometimes we all need somebody that we can talk to, to help us better understand ourselves and the issues that we may be facing. While family and friends are of great support, there are times when talking to somebody impartial offers us the chance to fully explore what is really going on inside, without feeling as though we are burdening those that are close to us.

This is where talking to a counsellor can be the right support for your needs, where you are free to be open, safe in the knowledge that what is talked through is confidential and that you will not be judged. I offer you a caring and professional space to be able to do that.

Counselling is something that is available to everyone, it is not something only accessible to those who have reached their "rock bottom".
If there is something that is affecting your life that you feel you just can move on from, or that you feel you need to come to terms with or try to understand, then counselling may help with this.
Many of us go through life with ever increasing broad shoulders, 'layering up' with stuff, and ways to try to fix these. What can happen here is that we can get lost within these layers, becoming far removed from our true selves; sometimes we can be afraid to try something new or to stop doing what we are already doing, becoming stuck. Counselling can help to shed these away safely, at your own pace, to get the core of what's going on, enabling you to view things differently. Going backwards can help you move forwards.

Whatever difficulties you are facing, having that support from somebody who is caring and empathic, can really help to improve your mental wellbeing. If you are suffering from any of the following, then I am here for you:
